Today we ventured out briefly and encountered a Northern Hawk Owl while out at the Peat Ponds. A brief scan along the snowy tree crowns revealed its presence. While we glassed to confirm ID a Common Raven made a half-hearted attempt at harassing the NHOW, but a flick of the NHOW's wings was all it took to convince the raven to keep moving along. This brings our species total to 117.
